HR Administrator – 6 months

This new role is open to candidates happy to work on a temporary basis or a fixed term contract for 6 months. Working 4 days per week from home and 1 day on site in the Leeds 6 area. You need either CIPD Level 3 or 2 years + experience working in an HR Admin role. Full time hours. This sector is a great one to work in and they are a genuinely friendly team to work within.

Job Profile

The role is to support the HR and Learning Development Manager in an administrative capacity.
You will be providing support and guidance for staff on a range of HR processes.


Responsible for day-to-day HR office administration. To be the point of contact for all day-to-day operational HR issues.

  • Responsibility for adherence to HR processes to include new starters; contractual changes and leavers to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Responsibility for ensuring all staff records are kept up to date, and that Payroll is advised of changes in a timely manner.
  • Occasional arranging of meetings and minute taking and support with collation and reminders of actions from meetings.
  • Supporting the Interim HR and Learning Development Manager in producing HR metrics and management reporting.
  • Responsibility for day-to-day HR & Learning and Development administration to include recruitment; onboarding; offboarding; contract changes; probations; performance reviews; annual leave; benefits; training; development and health and safety.
  • Supporting managers with the recruitment process.
  • Responsibility for ensuring PeopleHR is kept up to date by regular reporting to check for gaps and inconsistencies.
  • Responsible for supporting the Interim HR and Learning Development Manager in periodically auditing/cleansing PeopleHR as necessary, to ensure the data is fit for purpose and current.
  • Shared responsibility with Interim HR and Learning Development Manager for monitoring the HR inbox and ensuring electronic filing of emails.
  • Responsible for electronically filing documentation in the appropriate way on OneDrive to include archiving.
  • Responsibility for checking external portals to ensure processes are being managed pro-actively by staff and managers.
  • Responsibility for ensuring any job board advertisements are checked, updated and the process is consistent across the Company.
  • Responsible for ensuring job specifications are kept updated.
  • Supporting the HR team with Learning and Development activities, issuing courses, and running reports using our Learning and Development platform Virtual College.

Experience, skills set and/or qualifications required

  • Previous HR administration essential and ideally CIPD Level 3 but not essential if you have worked within HR administration for at least 2 years
  • Be able to prioritise workload
  • Computer literate and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Works well within a team and on your own

Hours: 37.5 hours – Monday – Friday (office hours)

Salary: £21 to £23K (dependant on experience)

Location: Hybrid – 1 day a week on site. If you have not used PeopleHR previously you would be expected to train on site for the first 2 weeks.
