My client is a charity based in Leeds who do amazing work to support families facing children’s cancer, they plan and conduct a wide variety of different projects and events to help families going through tough circumstances. They aim to do this by providing emotional, practical and financial support to all families, support and strengthen the NHS and investing in vital research!

They are looking for a Senior Fundraiser to join the friendly, hardworking team on a full time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity that will continue to grow and develop and to work for such a dedicated team.

Main Responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead on development of an annual community fundraising strategy & budget in line with fundraising departments business plan, ensuring targets are met
  • To lead on the development of a specific strategy to engage our beneficiary families with fundraising, specifically looking at the development of new and existing teams
  • To pro-actively appropriately engage with the families they support and encourage them to fundraise
  • To identify warm, family fundraisers and provide them the opportunity to fundraise through teams
  • To develop excellent fundraising relationships by providing appropriate levels of stewardship and support to donors
  • To deliver presentations to specific groups and attend cheque presentations and third party events when appropriate
  • To record all relevant information on the fundraising CRM as required and to maintain up to date records
  • To provide accurate community fundraising income reports for the head of fundraising

Requirements and experience needed:

  • Excellent sales skills with the ability to successfully articulate information in a persuasive manner, converting prospects into supporters
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills
  • Excellent written/presentation skills and confident when speaking to large audiences
  • Strong organisational, planning and prioritisation skills
  • Evidence of communicating effectively with supporters
  • Ability to remain positive, resilient and flexible when dealing with change within an organisation
  • Competent IT skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Evidence of being pro-active

Essential Skills:

  • Must have a driving license and access to a car
  • 5 GCSE’s grade C or above including Maths and English
  • Training in safeguarding children
  • Evidence of an IOF qualification
  • Must have knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • At least 2 years’ experience working within a community fundraising
  • Track record of achieving and meeting fundraising targets
